Freyr
One of the most important pagan gods, Freyr is the main symbol of fertility. Unlike his sister, Freyja, he is more phallic in nature, representing the male’s hand in the process.
Freyr was known to be a fierce warrior, possessing a magic sword that fights on its own. He is often shown riding a giant boar, trained by dwarves. For these reasons, many warriors of the time period were named with kennings involving variations of the god’s name.
In addition to fertility of humans, he’s also associated with fertility of the land and bountiful harvests. This makes him a constant point of worship with numerous statues and carvings recovered from that time.
