The name Odin means fury, excitiation, mind and poetry. He is the god of war, battle, wisdom and death. He is very cunning and uses his cunning qualities to get himself and others out of sticky situations. He once sacrificed his eye to gain the Wisdom of the Ages.
In Norse mythology, Odin is known to be the starter of wars. He had valkyries that he used as his servants. Their job was to collect worthy slain soldiers to join Odin. Odin had a great hall in which he housed dead soldiers who were great in battle. Odin also had the skill to sway battles in his favor or in whomever favor he chooses.
